Description

Summary

Grocery Department Managers oversee operations in a grocery department of a commissary, which may include managing a small warehouse, a separate receiving area, and shelf stocking contracts.

Responsibilities

Leading department employees, delegating tasks, and ensuring a balanced workload.
Managing inventory processes such as ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and maintaining supplies.
Ensuring effective presentation of end displays, special promotions, and customer savings programs.
Conducting regular inspections of store equipment and coordinating maintenance activities.
Handling Not-In-Stock (NIS) items and collaborating with relevant staff to address any issues.
Checking shelf products for quality, expiration dates, and stock levels.
Supervising the store's merchandising activities.
Coordinating with the Quality Assurance Evaluator (QAE) on contractor performance evaluations.
Enforcing compliance with safety protocols and regulations.

Working Conditions

Most tasks are carried out in well-lit and temperature-controlled store areas.
Occasionally exposed to varying weather conditions or damp environments in storage/receiving areas.
May encounter temperature differences when handling items from cold storage facilities.
Risk of minor injuries like cuts or slips on wet floors.
