    Educational and Experience Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Sports Administration, Business Management, Student Personnel Services, or a related field. Two years experience in a professional, supervisory capacity of a recreation oriented program or experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
    Nature & Purpose of Position
  • To be committed to student success by supporting student staff and providing excellent facilities and programs for student patrons. Assist with planning, organizing, and directing the daily operations and personnel of the facility operations program.
    Primary Responsibilities
  • Organizes, develops, and manages, with the support of staff and student personnel, the facility operations programs. Reviews and interprets policies and procedures and makes recommendations to enhance the student patrons' experience in the Campus Recreation Center. Interviews, hires, trains, schedules, and evaluates student staff. Assists with an intentional staff development program that enhances the studentemployee experience. Assists with the budget process, including longrange planning relative to the program area. Makes equipment recommendations. Assists with special projects to include facility enhancements, new construction, and staff retention. Works directly with student groups, organizations, departments, alums, community groups, vendors, and others as necessary. Prepares reports, evaluations, and proposals as required. Works with the marketing team to promote facility use and ensure accurate facility information in department communications. Serves on department and campus committees as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
    Other Specifications
  • National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), American Red Cross First aid, CPR, and computer experience helpful. Must possess welldeveloped communicative and interpersonal skills essential to working with large groups. Working hours may vary as required by the hiring department, including evening and weekend work. Attention and care are necessary to perform duties to prevent injury to self or others.
  • This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
  • Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during offpeak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor._
