Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to support our culinary operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production, kitchen management, and team leadership within a hospitality or fine dining setting. As a key member of our culinary team, the Sous Chef will assist in overseeing daily kitchen activities, ensuring the delivery of exceptional food quality, safety standards, and efficient service.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to foster a cohesive team environment.
- Support menu planning and food preparation processes to maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
- Oversee food safety practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations and sanitation protocols.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.
- Coordinate with catering and banquet teams to deliver seamless service for special events and large-scale functions.
- Supervise shift operations, ensuring timely food service and efficient workflow during busy periods.
- Contribute to kitchen organization by maintaining cleanliness, safety standards, and proper food handling procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience in food production within a restaurant or hospitality environment, ideally with fine dining or catering background.
- Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in managing kitchen teams.
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and accommodating dietary restrictions.
- Extensive knowledge of inventory management, food safety standards, and kitchen operations.
- Strong culinary skills with expertise in cooking techniques, menu development, and food presentation.
- Experience in managing food service operations including shift management and catering services.
