The successful candidate will assist the Site Manager/Pharmacist-In-Charge with tasks in the pharmacy.
Provide and promote outstanding customer service, assist in preparing and dispensing medication and supplies, enter new and refill prescriptions to the system, work with physician offices to acquire refill requests, handle cash transactions, receive patient prescriptions, unpack/verify stock-to-invoices and help maintain the pharmacy in accurate order.
This is a full time, benefit eligible roleThis position is also eligible for a $5000 sign on bonus
Receive prescriptions from patients and capture appropriate information per department policy.
Address third party prescription questions, which may include prior authorizations, vacation supplies, dose changes, price check and drug utilization review.
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the computer system. Handle cash register transactions quickly and thoroughly.Perform administrative duties as assigned by the manager.
Duties may include scheduling, maintaining pharmacy software and automation systems, bookkeeping activities, on site training of staff and acting as a primary resource for decision-making.
Under pharmacist supervision, assist with identifying and resolving patient specific medication related issues in the patient's best interest.Deliver training to new and current staff on areas of expertise including computer/software, insurance plans and problems that may occur, customer service, and other processes.
Under the direction of the pharmacist, prepare drug therapy for patients in an accurate and timely fashion in accordance with all legal requirements, regulatory agencies and Fairview Policy.
Deliver medications, supplies and equipment to patient care areas and other clinical areas as appropriate.Ensure the pharmacy is clean and well-stocked every day.
Assist in inventory control functions
Record invoices in department inventory control/invoice records
Maintain stock of inventory in assigned areas
Receive, unpack, and check incoming stock against invoices and place into inventory
Help in the maintenance of pharmacy billing records
Graduate of an approved pharmacy technician program
Minimum License/Certification/Registration
Active technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy.
One to three years retail and/or pharmacy experience
Excellent customer service skills, proficient in the English language, good attention to detail, ability to problem solve effectively, ability to follow policies and procedures, basic math skills, basic typing skills and excellent social skills.
