- Verifies compliance with health and safety regulations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
- Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected coordinate with Operations on facility deficiencies and monthly safety inspections.
- Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements for the site.
- Provide daily guidance and direction, including process documentation, in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach.
- Lead the Emergency Response Team and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
- Manages safety, health and site environmental project work and ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Acts as advisor to the Plant level safety committee and management regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
- Coordinate maintaining the Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures.
- Partner with Site Leadership in handling employee relations issues such as investigations and corrective action related to employee injuries and safety policy violations.
- Assists in the coordination and implementation of training programs related to safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform other duties and special projects as required.
- Partner with Human Resources to facilitate worker's compensation process and maintain OHSA 300 Log.
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, chemical engineering
- 5-7 years in a manufacturing environment as a safety professional
- Safety certification credential are a plus (CSP, CHMM, CIH, CPEA, OHST, CESCO)
- Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills
- Able to handle employee issues on a 24/7 schedule
- Able to work on site minimum 40 hours a week supporting a 24-hour operation
- Ability to travel at least 10% in order to collaborate with partner sites on network programs
- Ability to work well under minimal supervision
- Excellent servant leadership skills
- Attention to details, organization ability and ability to interact well with others
- Strong computer skills
- Must have knowledge of State and Federal laws
- Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
