WATD Litho and Litho Metrology Department Manager at Intel in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Job Description As the industry moves towards heterogeneous integration, disaggregated architecture, and chiplet integration using advanced packaging to continue Moore's law scaling, Intel is pioneering development of hybrid bonding technology in its state of the art advanced packaging FAB in Oregon to meet our customer's needs.
To deliver the hybrid bonding technology, the Intel Wafer Level Assembly Technical Development Front-End group is looking for an experienced Litho Technology Development Department Manager to assemble and manage a team of process and equipment engineers to deliver industry leading patterning capability to advanced packaging.
This team will drive Technology Development through 247 operation of the litho and litho metrology tools and processes and be responsible for yield and capacity ramps.
In addition, they will oversee installation of litho and litho metrology tools into a new facility to enable the HBI process development and low volume manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead definition of the litho and litho metrology equipment roadmap to meet requirements, goals, and milestones for a next generation process development. + Strive to achieve and deliver leading edge process capability, yield, cost and manufacturability. This will involve exceptional collaboration with cross-functional/cross-company teams and tool vendors to meet challenging program goals. + Lead definition of process flows, procedures, and equipment configuration for the litho module. + Select and develop material and equipment for the process to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity and manufacturability requirements. + Engage closely with tool vendors. Drive escalations and ensure resolution to any process and/or equipment problems and set strategic requirement roadmaps. + Engage with process engineers, automation, and other content experts to identify software requirements to enable and accelerate litho and litho metrology process development and control. + Work with Intel automation and external parties to meet overlay and run to run roadmap needs and enable knowledge transfer to other teams and HVM locations. + Own tool installation and qualification for all litho and litho metrology tools. + Drive improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity and safety/ergonomic over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment and operating personnel. + Manage establishment of process control and sustaining systems in support of qualification and ramp through low volume manufacturing. + Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools. + Develop strategy to resolve difficult problems and establish systems to deal with these problems in the future. + Enable HVM process transfer with support in training production/receiving process engineers, equipment engineering, and manufacturing technicians for transfer to other factories. + Manage process transfer to high volume manufacturing and provide support in new factory startup as well as install and qualification of the litho tools and new production lines.
Required Experience:
+ Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of litho and litho metrology fundamentals including APC implementation. + 10 years of experience in litho technology development or manufacturing in either logic or memory. + 10 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor FAB processing. + 10 years of experience in semiconductor litho, litho metrology, and APC process development or manufacturing. + Experience with development and implementation of litho specific advance process control systems, collaborating with cross-functional/cross-company teams including equipment and material vendors, driving litho process improvements to achieve electrical, yield, and cost performance targets on schedule, and achieving world class manufacturing sustaining metrics. + Experience managing technical development teams and demonstrated the ability to inspire and grow team members in a challenging, dynamic, and fast-paced process development environment. Qualifications + PhD OR Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or Chemistry with over 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry + Direct experience with leading and managing teams.
