    Location DescriptionThe Lawrence, Kansas facility is 236,000 square feet and home to about 155 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits.

    Lawrence is a college town and the home to both the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University with Kansas State University about 85 miles away.

    The city is known for a thriving music and art scene and is also the home of the University of Kansas athletic teams.


    ResponsibilitiesPay Rate:
    $37.25 per hourThe Maintenance Planner will support the plant manufacturing goals and strategy by ensuring the proper resources are deployed at the proper place and time to perform the required maintenance tasks.

    As a Maintenance Planner, you will:

    Operate the CMMS maintenance systemProcess work requests as required in assigned planner groupParticipate in prioritizing maintenance work with supporting operations groupsDetermine skills and resources required for a given work orderBe responsible for tracking critical Metrics: % Planned vs.

    Unplanned Work, % Scheduled Work Completed, Work Order BacklogManage PM creation, schedules and effectivenessAssist with parts research and procurement for Word Orders and PMs.

    Work with Stores to ensure parts required are kitted and available for scheduled workIdentify breakdown and rework issues and participate in Root Cause Analysis of issuesSchedule labor and coordinate equipment availability for maintenanceWork to constantly improve the Plant through cost saving ideas, process improvements, and business simplification ideasBe responsible for coordinating work among all shiftsObtain necessary permitsTrack active PM's and Work Requests.

    Follow up on past due Requests with Maintenance SupervisorsCommunicate with Stores, Purchasing, Operations, Maintenance Personnel, and others as necessary to ensure efficient work flowUnderstand and apply FSMA, plant quality, plant current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and food safety requirements to the daily performance of the jobSupport all Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives and performs assigned safety responsibilitiesPerform all other duties as assignedQualificationsStrong knowledge of mechanical / electrical equipment and systemsUnderstanding of plant manufacturing processesFamiliarity with maintenance and maintenance related workPractical knowledge of computer systems and office programsStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility and to work independently as well as in a team environmentDetail oriented
