**Patient Support Specialist - Bilingual**

at Skylight Health Group Jacksonville, Florida, United States **Responsibilities:**

Promptly answer telephone calls in a courteous manner, screen calls, and record messages for physician and other personnel.

Schedule patient appointments and procedures according to established protocol

Obtain accurate information from patients and ensure al registration forms are complete

Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges on a daily basis

Process insurance information for billing in a timely manner

Provide information to patients regarding unpaid balances

Assist physician with rooming patients

File records in appropriate sections of patient charts

Transcribe letters and create forms as needed

Copy patient information and forward to requesting party after receiving appropriate consent to release medical records.

Maintain files and records in a confidential manner

Maintain organization and efficiency of front office including office supply inventory

Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance to HIPAA laws and regulations

Perform other related duties as assigned

**Qualifications:**

Highschool diploma or GED

Minimum of 2 years medical office experience including billing and insurance authorizations

Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

Knowledge of EMR systems

Ability to handle incoming phone calls and triaging appropriately

Skilled in gathering, interpreting and reporting insurance information

Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff

Understanding insurance benefits and reimbursements

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public
