    Welcome to the Bureau of EMS Standards and Licensure

    Are you passionate about leading change and ensuring high standards of service in emergency medical services (EMS)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!



    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience in program policy and administration development for a health-related organization.
    • Three years of supervisory experience OR one year of managerial experience.

    Education substitution:
    • Four years of specialized experience OR an associate degree and two years of specialized experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree.

    Experience substitution:
    • Master's degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience.
    • . may substitute for two years of specialized experience.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certifications / Licenses: Certification in Project Management (PMP) or related field; EMS certification or license preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in emergency medical services, healthcare administration, or regulatory compliance, with at least five years in a leadership role.
    • Skills / Knowledge / Abilities: Strong leadership skills; Excellent organizational development skills; In-depth knowledge of EMS regulations and best practices; Advanced project management skills; Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

    Duties Description: The Bureau Chief (Project Director) plays a key role in leading the Bureau of EMS Standards and Licensure. Responsibilities include:

    1. Strategic Leadership and Operational Management: Provide visionary leadership, align operations with strategic goals, engage with policymakers, and maintain organizational structure.
    2. Project Operationalization: Lead planning, development, and execution of key projects, manage cross-functional teams, and build relationships with stakeholders.
    3. Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to regulations, enforce compliance, propose policies, and update standards based on best practices.
    4. Performance Management and Compliance: Monitor operations, ensure legal compliance, review protocols, gather feedback, and enhance performance evaluation systems.
    5. Staff Services and Management: Provide leadership for staffing, establish mentorship programs, encourage professional development, implement performance evaluation systems, and create succession planning programs.
