The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is the sole nonprofit organization created by President Reagan charged with continuing his legacy and sharing his principles – limited government, individual liberty, economic opportunity, freedom and democracy, peace through strength, civility, and national pride.
The Foundation is a non-partisan organization which sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion, the award-winning Leadership Academy and the Reagan Institute, which carries out the Foundation's mission in Washington, D.C.
The Reagan Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan.
It also serves as the final resting place of America's 40th President and former First Lady Nancy Reagan.Position Available
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute (RRPFI) seeks an experienced digital marketing and communications leader to help shape and execute the organization's digital presence and communications.
Reporting to RRPFI's Chief Marketing Officer, the successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading, developing and growing a digital strategy while maintaining the highest brand stewardship.
In addition, the successful candidate will have experience with day-to-day external and internal communications, and will support the Chief Marketing Officer closely in that regard, including with media inquiries.
The Director of Digital Strategy and Communications will strategically grow RRPFI's social platforms, create digital revenue opportunities and growth for the organization, build out new and younger audiences (including in the education space), and support fundraising efforts.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesAlongside the Chief Marketing Officer, lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with organizational goals and the broader vision of turning our website, app, and social media into a robust, state-of-the-art digital platform to inspire a new generation of young Americans to embrace Ronald Reagan and his principles
This will include:
Designing, implementing, and optimizing all digital marketing initiatives, including RRPFI's website, SEO/SEM strategies and tactics, and all paid media programs in order to grow RRPFI's brand and impact.
Creating the digital strategy for RRPFI, including social media platform follower growth (Instagram, YouTube, X, FaceBook, LinkedIn), SEO, website optimization, revenue opportunities and growth, as well as helping to create a completely new, state-of-the-art RRPFI website and app, with an emphasis on video and education features to showcase current and future original and exclusive online content.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers. Proactively seek and skillfully respond to media opportunities to enhance RRPFI's public image.Conduct actionable research on industry trends across platforms, audience behaviors, and competitor activities to inform digital strategies. Use research to identify and evaluate new digital opportunities to enhance and grow the organization's presence and effectiveness.
Help develop and maintain the company's brand identity, ensuring consistency across all communication channels. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between brand messaging and broad organizational goals.
Develop and implement inspirational multi-channel strategies to help elevate our brand and across interdepartmental goals (marketing, development, education, policy efforts, etc.) while leveraging RRPFI's extensive content library from the Reagan presidency.
Create suitable online content (posts, reels, shorts) from RRPFI's ongoing public affairs programming and exclusive interviews; develop original and exclusive content for adult and youth audiences alike.
Identify and develop significant partnerships to extend our reach with like-minded organizations and individuals as well as influencers.
Identify and develop digital revenue opportunities.
Work closely with RRPFI's Development team to engage supporters and garner their support.
Collaborate with internal partners to drive digital commerce.
Oversee the Social Media Manager and works alongside graphic designers to implement strategy.
Work with the team to create ongoing compelling content calendars, creative and copywriting, while also rolling up his/her sleeves to execute plan as both player and coach.
Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as senior leaders to align communication efforts with overall business objectives.
Participate in Foundation events – held occasionally on evenings, weekends and holidays – including the annual Reagan National Defense Forum (at the end of November/first weekend of December), in support of the Foundation's mission, as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
The successful candidate must be passionate about President Ronald Reagan's legacy and principles.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field with 7+ years of experience driving and executing digital / social media / influencer marketing campaigns in a fast-paced environment.
Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, motivate and inspire.
Understanding of relevant tools for digital programs and analytics (Hubspot, Salesforce, HootSuite, and more).
Familiarity with digital and social network management and analytics tools, and ability to stay current on new web technologies and trends.
Ability to work with outside marketing and PR firms, while also able to galvanize internal teams to approach communications with a "digital-first" mindset while always adhering to RRPFI's brand and style guidelines.
Ability to juggle multiple projects and changing priorities for multiple departments.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and problem-solving skills.
A solutions-oriented mindset.
Must possess a positive attitude and a sense of humor.
