The Manager V (Financial Reporting Manager) oversees and provides strategic leadership and guidance in the design, development, and implementation of financial reporting methodologies and procedures within the Health and Specialty Care System's (HSCS) financial reporting team.

This role ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reports, while managing and directing the daily operations of the financial reporting team.

The Financial Reporting Manager plays a key role in establishing and maintaining policies, procedures, and standards to achieve organizational goals and objectives of HSCS, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance within the department.

Works under mínimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.


Essential Job Functions:


Leadership and Team Management:
Provide strong leadership and direction to the financial reporting team. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and accountability. Mentor, coach, and develop team members to maximize their potential and drive performance. Set clear goals and objectives for the team and ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and dedication to excellence. (30%)

Operational Oversight:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization to ensure smooth functioning. Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize efficiency and productivity. Oversees the preparation financial reports and analysis, including the coordination and gathering of cost information. Oversees the planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of policies and procedures; and monitors compliance with policies and procedures. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on operational matters to support decision-making. Identify opportunities for business growth and expansion and develop strategies to capitalize on them. Oversee the development and evaluation of facilities budget requests; monitor budget expenditures; and make adjustments as necessary. (30%)

Stakeholder and staff communications:
Provides technical guidance for a business function, division, or department. Represents the facilities financial operations departments at meetings, conferences, and seminars or on committees. Establishes goals and objectives; develops and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals; and manages evaluation activities. Oversees staff development plans and activities. Manages multiple business functions and provide oversight and coordination of associated staff. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others. (30%)

Knowledge Skills Abilities:


Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to a business function, division, or department; and of the principles and practices of financial management.

Knowledge of business intelligence tools and/or data visualization tools.

  • Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems; and in operating computers and applicable computer software.
  • Ability to manage financial operations; to establish goals and objectives; to devise solutions to administrative problems; to develop and evaluate administrative policies and procedures; to prepare reports; to communicate effectively; and to plan, assign, and supervise the work of others

N/A


Initial Selection Criteria:

Five-year's experience in the management of financial operations of an HHSC/public program. Experience managing and/or using business intelligence tool or data visualization tool.
