Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major coursework in Criminal Justice, Aviation Management, Airway Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field, plus two (2) years of law enforcement, security or airport operations work experience.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus (6) years of law enforcement, security, military or airport operations work experience; OR
- Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education up to the maximum of four (4) years.

POSITION
OVERVIEW
- This position is responsible for ensuring various components of compliance with 49 CFR , in regard to airport access media to include data entry, taking and submitting fingerprints, filing, training, and all other required aspects. This position also issues, audits, and maintains key systems. Advises airport management on needed actions and improvements to security. Additionally, this position conducts security audits of sterile area concessionaire lease areas; and fulfills all aspects of the airport's lost & found program. All activities are conducted in a highly public setting, requiring excellent attention to detail and customer service. Provide daytoday supervision and direction to a staff of Airport Access Control Technicians who are responsible for
- expectations and standards, and recommends future performance and development objectives
ASSESSMENT
- A skills assessment will be required for this position.
DRIVER'S REQUIREMENT* - This position must travel between various locations as part of the regular job duties and the individual will be required to drive a City vehicle. Position will also be required to drive on the AOA.
- This position requires a Valid Texas Class C Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the
City of Austin's Driver Record Evaluation (DRE
) requisite. To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirtysix (36) months. Job Offer is contingent on having a driving record that meets the City's Driver Record Evaluation Standards.
