We are currently seeking dedicated and responsible individuals to join our team as School Bus Drivers.

    Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dependable School Bus Driver to transport students to and from school, following designated routes and schedules in a safe and efficient manner. The School Bus Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students while on the bus, enforcing safety rules and procedures, and maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere on the bus. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to student safety and welfare.

    Responsibilities:

    • Safely operate a school bus in compliance with all traffic laws, regulations, and district policies.
    • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure that the bus is in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
    • Follow designated routes and schedules, picking up and dropping off students at designated stops in a timely manner.
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of students while on the bus, enforcing safety rules and procedures, and maintaining order and discipline as needed.
    • Assist students, including helping them board and exit the bus safely, securing seat belts or child safety restraints as required, and providing assistance to students with special needs.
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and district personnel, providing courteous and professional service and addressing concerns or inquiries promptly and courteously.
    • Follow emergency procedures and protocols in the event of accidents, breakdowns, or other emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and colleagues.
    • Complete required paperwork, such as daily logs, mileage reports, and incident reports, accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining accurate records of bus operations and student counts.
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance driving skills, safety knowledge, and customer service skills.
    • Adhere to district policies and procedures regarding driver conduct, safety protocols, and student transportation, promoting a culture of safety and professionalism.
    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger (P) endorsement and school bus (S) endorsement.
    • Clean driving record with no more than [X] points or violations in the past [Y] years.
    • Previous experience as a bus driver or commercial driver preferred.
    • Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, and safety procedures.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and district personnel.
    • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially in emergency situations.
    • Commitment to safety and professionalism, with a focus on providing exceptional service to students and families.
    • Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
    • Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings and late afternoons, as needed.
