    Director, Development

    We have been at the forefront of energy storage development since our first energy storage project came online in 2018.

    As a leader in our industry, we have over 22 GW of utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable energy projects in development and 33 projects in operation or construction across North America.


    We seek an experienced Director of Development who will spearhead the development of energy storage and hybrid renewable projects in the Western US, with California as a primary market.


    Responsibilities:
    Manage Development team members in the design and execution of regional strategy;
    Lead project development activities from inception to financial close by coordinating with internal and external subject matter experts;
    Coordinate and report project status, including profitability, to executives and investors:
    Collaborate with the Commercial team to develop customer relationships and negotiate project transactions;
    Support negotiation and execution of scopes of work for development studies and activities;
    Lead due diligence for development or acquisition projects;
    Collaborate with regulatory and policy experts to track and incorporate policy and power market changes into regional strategy;
    Other duties as assigned or required.

    Key Qualifications:
    Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, finance, environmental science, or similar with a graduate degree (MBA) a strong plus;
    Minimum of eight (8) years of experience with demonstrated project success in utility-scale renewable energy project development;
    Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams in an entrepreneurial environment, including a creative and proactive work ethic;
    Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple large teams on concurrent projects;
    Demonstrated ability to accurately assess, quantify, and resolve project and contractual risk;
    Knowledge of and experience in CAISO, including legal, regulatory, and environmental aspects;
    Experienced in MS Office (Teams, Project, PowerPoint, Excel).

    A base salary commensurate with experience;

    Bonus:
    An annual bonus will be awarded based on both individual performance as well as the overall success of the business;

    Location:
    Remote; ability to work in the United States is a requirement. The candidate should be based in the Western US, with a preference for California. However, the workplace location is flexible, provided the candidate can travel as required;

    Travel:
    Candidate must be willing totravel 25% across the US.
