Description

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Technical Manager for their team.

The Maintenance Technical Manager is directly responsible for all manufacturing equipment, engineering requirements, and maintenance operations to ensure the high standards and expectations of food safety, quality, and performance are achieved. As a member of the Plant's Leadership Team, the expectations of professional, productive, and proactive communication with all departments and personnel must be consistently achieved.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

Adhere to the company philosophies (mission, values, vision, etc...)
Manage and be responsible for all technical employees and their activities in Electrical/Technical Maintenance, ensuring that all requirements of production are met in terms of quality, quantity, dates, efficiency, and cost.
Oversees the Development, implementation and maintaining of preventive/predictive maintenance programs for the operations plant and equipment.
Maintain effective liaison with outside suppliers, vendors, equipment manufacturers and contractors as well as supervise external contractors needed for project completion.
Develops, fabricates parts, modifies and/or makes operational equipment for Industrial Operations.
Establishes priorities and completion dates for projects, tracks and reports progress to plant manager.
Effectively schedules and staffs project work to ensure that targeted completion dates are met.
Develops departmental budgets and operates within approved budget allocations.
Develops, implements, and maintains an adequate inventory of parts and material to meet the Operations' needs.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment in areas of responsibility.
Develop and recommend strategies to meet present and future requirements in all areas of responsibility.
Ensure that work performed by outside service personnel and machine shops meet the specifications indicated in contract or purchase order.
Must know and follow ISO and TQM procedures associated with the position including implementing and insuring adherence to environmental regulations for health, safety and environmental protection.
Administrative management of employees including scheduling, time and attendance management, absenteeism tracking, annual planning, discipline, performance reviews, overtime management, training new maintenance and production employees on troubleshooting techniques and equipment operation, and setting expectations for cleanliness of the workplace.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements and ensure equipment performs in a safe manner and complies with all the OSHA regulations.
Perform safety and sanitation audits and participate as an active member in the safety, quality, and food safety committees. Has knowledge and understands the concepts of HACCP and IFS and serves as a member of the HACCP Team.
Oversees the MRO Buyer/Planner in the purchase of all materials required for the operation of the department including safety equipment, spare parts, tools etc...
Monitor and ensure work order system operates effectively (ensure safety, food safety and other operational work orders are addressed promptly).
Responsible to modify and/or suggest modifications to the equipment upon management approval, to improve its overall performance, safety, or food safety operation.
Maintenance of all work processes and specifications according to IFS standard, HACCP, and environmental management.
Demonstrate an environmentally and energy conscious behaviour for employees.
Other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

Excellent Computer skills (Microsoft office, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, ERP and MMS).
Experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives, and all types of AC and DC electrical and mechanical equipment.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal electric codes.
Able to read and make proper installations of complex electrical circuits from wiring diagrams.
Experience installing and repairing electrical conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls, and grounding.
Possesses working knowledge of hydraulic, compressed air systems and be able to read complex diagrams and troubleshoot these systems.
Experience installing and repairing pneumatic conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls, and grounding.

Professional Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree n Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with Business Management Degree.
Prefer Five to ten years' experience in Maintenance and/or Engineering manager role preferably in a food manufacturing plant.
Must have good interpersonal skills to work with peers in manufacturing, outside contractors, and vendors.
Should be highly motivated and capable of taking initiative to react to emergencies when called upon.
Exceptional organizing, communication, and leadership skills.
Analytical and problem-solving ability is a prerequisite.
Proven Project Management experience including proven ability to lead a team.
Boiler Certification preferred.
