An established, nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with at least three years of experience in commercial litigation, commercial construction, or government contracts. This opportunity is based in Washington, D.C., one of the most competitive Washington legal jobs markets.

This Litigation - Commercial Attorney role focuses on representing contractors involved in public and private projects, including arbitration and litigation before state and federal courts and contract appeal boards. The position offers substantial client contact, courtroom exposure, and the ability to work on sophisticated disputes within a collaborative environment.

This position rarely opens at this level and is actively interviewing qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

As a Litigation Associate Attorney, you will:

• Represent contractors in commercial litigation, construction disputes, and government contract matters

• Participate in arbitration, mediation, and trial proceedings

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents

• Conduct in-depth legal research and factual investigation

• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies

• Maintain direct client communication and provide strategic legal advice

• Appear before courts and contract appeal boards as part of dispute resolution efforts

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Minimum of three years of experience in commercial litigation or related areas

• Admission to the D.C. Bar (or eligibility to waive in); Maryland and/or Virginia Bar admission is a plus

• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills

• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
