For a regional major provider in the Berlin/Brandenburg area, we are currently seeking you to join our team as a Section Head of Palliative Medicine, reference number:
In 2016, the hospital introduced specialized palliative care for patients, and the Palliative Care Unit was opened in 2017. Nine individual rooms are available for patients with incurable diseases.


The creation of the position of Section Head of Palliative Medicine is aimed at giving a higher priority and expanding the scope of palliative care at the hospital, in order to meet the increased demand for such services.


Responsibilities:

  • Providing palliative care for patients and participating in all tasks of the department
  • Establishing a team of doctors to provide palliative care
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and initiate change and development processes

Qualifications:

  • Boardcertified physician, preferably in Internal Medicine (Oncology or Gastroenterology)
  • Additional certification in Palliative Medicine is mandatory, with a high level of expertise
  • Additional certification in Specialized Pain Medicine is desirable
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in palliative care is required
  • Possession of the authorization for further education or interest in obtaining it
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and dedication, as well as human empathy and compassion in dealing with patients, family members, and colleagues for optimal patient care
  • Strong social skills, high sense of responsibility, and commitment
