    The Department of English is seeking a Program Specialist to join the team and coordinate the English Ph.D. program. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in program specialization, e.g. counseling, testing, and events planning. It is critical for the candidate to have the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, prioritize, and multitask. Additionally, the successful candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills.

    Responsibilities:

    • Counsels and advises students in the English Ph.D. program on academic requirements, degree progress, registration and serve as the liaison to relevant campus offices to assure timely completion of student degrees.
    • Provides administrative support and oversees curriculum changes, petitions and additional academic forms in consultation with the Director of Graduate Studies.
    • Coordinates production and distribution of program materials including course description packets, brochures and additional promotional materials.
    • Coordinates program services and/or activities. Schedules meetings and events. Arranges with vendors for services. Ensures satisfactory follow through on assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Organizes admission materials for committee review, plans campus visit and completes additional recruitment tasks.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested and provides support to the Administrative Manager.

    Preferred Education:

    • Masters degree; combined experience/education as substitute

    Preferred Experience:

    • 3 years

    Hourly range: The hourly rate range for this position is $ $38.
