You will be part of an 18-person contractor team providing support services to a DHS component's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), with primary support to the Information Technology (IT) Program Management Office (PMO).

Support activities for the contractor team include the review and vetting of new IT capability requests; Program and Project Management support; Systems Engineering support; Quality Assurance, Test and Evaluation activities; Software License Management; Content/Knowledge Management; and Financial Management support activities to include Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) and Financial Operations (FINOPS).


In this position the contractor will assist the government customers by providing project management support for new IT initiatives within the DHS component's organization.

Supported projects extend beyond the OCIO into a variety of other elements within the component.

In the execution of your duties, you will work closely with the government customers and other contractor teams supporting the organization.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide the full range of project management support activities for the planning, development, integration, implementation, and deployment of IT systems
  • Prepare IT project documentation, reports, and presentations
  • Monitor and track the status of IT projects
  • Maintain IT project data in a SharePoint information management system
  • Arrange, organize, schedule, and facilitate project team meetings
  • Prepare project meeting summaries and document action items
  • Assist in conducting reviews and assessments of new IT capability requests to address the enduser's business needs
  • Collaborate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders to define IT system requirements
  • Evaluate potential technology solutions to address IT system capability gaps and requirements
  • Assist in the development of business process workflows
  • Assist in the development of procurement documents
  • Conduct peer reviews on other contractor team deliverables to ensure quality standards are met
  • Assist in responding to internal and external data calls for IT programs and projects

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; will accept years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of customer support experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience performing project management support activities
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a virtual environment
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust Security Clearance

Desired Skills and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in an IT field of study
  • Experience performing project management support activities for IT systems
  • Experience performing project management support activities for a federal government customer
  • Experience supporting a Chief Information Officer (CIO) organization
  • Experience performing Systems Engineering activities
  • Experience developing Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
  • Understanding of the DHS Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC)
  • Understanding of the DHS Acquisition Lifecycle Framework (ALF)
  • Understanding of the cybersecurity requirements for fielding an IT solution / system
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Project
  • Ability to manage diverse activities and meet competing deadlines
