- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards.
- Oversee the Foundation's day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and the Board of Directors
- Develop and manage the Foundation's annual budget process, including forecasting and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure proper tracking of grant expenses and compliance with grant requirements.
- Oversee the Foundation's audit and tax preparation processes.
- Provide financial analysis and guidance to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage a full-time accountant direct report.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required. CPA. or on CPA track preferred.
- 5+ years of related accounting experience in private foundation/public charity settings, with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Must have a dedication to the tax-exempt sector, the ability to exercise discretion, work independently, take initiative, meet multiple and competing deadlines, participate as an effective team member, and follow tasks through to completion.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards
- Experience in monetizing technical platforms.
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
