    JOB SUMMARY

    This position performs a variety of routine-to-complex professional administrative duties in the Office of Advancement, including but not limited to implementing strategies that will play a key role in the expansion of the College's fundraising priorities; provides support and assistance with cultivation and stewardship initiatives including donor recognition activities, events and visits, coordinating and participating in both general giving and special fundraising activities, mailings and invitations, managing the production of fundraising materials such as brochures and newsletters; establishes good working relationships with alumni, students, board members, businesses and the general public; and performs related duties as assigned. This class works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision and reports to the Director of Philanthropy and Engagement.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    • Assists with the design and implementation of a comprehensive development program to generate financial support from alumni, individuals, corporations, and foundations, by creating broad-based interest and involvement in the programs and activities of the College.
    • Supports office staff to identify, cultivate, and solicit prospects, including but not limited to annual gifts, grants, and sponsorships.
    • Assists with the outreach that effectively involves faculty, staff, alumni, board members, and volunteers in the solicitation process.
    • Assists in the development of direct mail, social media, and related materials for short and long-term fundraising campaigns.
    • Collaborates with the Marketing and Communications department to ensure that publications, promotional materials, web materials, and advertising share a common message and goal.
    • Assists with the coordination of special events and sponsorship opportunities.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration or closely related field.
    • Two (2) years of experience in fundraising and development activities preferred.
    • Prior experience working in a college environment with interactions with faculty, staff, alumni, board members and students preferred.
    • Must have knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices.
    • Must have strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to work under pressure with many priorities and deadlines.
    • Must be highly organized, self-starter with good interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, utilizing Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    • Knowledge of alumni/development programs and techniques.
    • Knowledge of institutional fundraising, promotional and public affairs programs, methods, procedures, and techniques.
    • Knowledge of effective sales techniques and means of contacting alumni such as through personal contacts, group meetings and mass mailings.
    • Ability to write effectively and communicate with tact and diplomacy.
    • Ability to anticipate needs, see opportunities, and use good judgment in dealing with confidential information.
    • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
    • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate media activities and special events.
    • Ability to meet schedules and timelines.
    • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
    • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Requires sedentary work that involves walking, standing, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis or routine keyboard operations.

    Work environment risks exposure to no known environmental hazards.
