    Description & Qualifications


    POSITION DESCRIPTION:
    The purpose of the Night Auditor is to run the night audit report each night.

    The Night Auditor is to provide excellent service to hotel guests by reasonably accommodating needs/requests while balancing the interests of the hotel.

    The Night Auditor will maintain hotel standards as set forth by hotel management, coordinating with other departments as necessary to fulfill the high expectations of our guests and patrons.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Run night audit and all associated reports; perform applicable and pertinent procedures
    • Display the current day's newspapers in the breakfast area, dispose of previous day's newspapers
    • Ensure business center and front desk area is in excellent condition with regard to supplies and state of cleanliness
    • Check guests in and out of the hotel; make future reservations when necessary; post and rebate room, tax, and other miscellaneous charges to guest accounts ; administer hotel guest payment policies in general
    • Operate hotel phone system, transfer calls and take messages for guests and hotel staff
    • Place, modify and cancel guest reservations
    • Input all reservation changes and any special requests into the Agilysys LMS system
    • Maintain an accurate daily inventory of available rooms
    • Coordinate with other departments to fulfill special guest requests
    • Coordinate and communicate with casino staff
    • Communicate hotel facilities and services to guests at check-in
    • Must be able to provide information regarding local area facilities for guests
    • Administer all hotel policies, procedures and standards
    • Responsible for maintaining hotel key security system
    • Read and communicate effectively and clearly
    • Be knowledgeable of any special promotions or rate programs
    • Be knowledgeable of the casino's promotions
    • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of front desk and lobby area
    • Know how to properly handle wake-up calls
    • Open and close shifts; make accurate cash drops
    • Ensure all credit cards, cash and change funds are balanced throughout the shift
    • Communicate with incoming staff and management by logging pertinent information in the front desk logbook
    • Communicate lost and found inquiries to management or Director of Housekeeping
    • Notify housekeeping and maintenance of any reported problems in guest's rooms or on hotel grounds
    • Must wear proper uniform at all times
    • Practice safety standards at all times
    • Carry out any reasonable request by management if capable of performing

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    NOTE:
    These include, but are not limited to the following (additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary):


    • Organize and attend monthly front desk / guest services staff meetings
    • Attend weekly management meetings as required
    • Assist the hotel in oversell situations
    • Ensure all necessary supplies are available to the departments
    • Help with room setup, empty trash, etc.
    • Assist other departments as needed or assigned
    • Run outside errands to pick up items as needed
    • Develop and maintain rapport with other Lakecrest Hotel and casino staff
    • Work and communicate with departments to ensure the smooth operation of hotel
    • Maintain an image of professionalism and competence to guests, clients and hotel personnel at all times
    • Work front desk and hospitality shifts as needed

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):

    • Must be 18 years of age or older
    • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Expert computer skills, ability to compose and create reports, letters, memos, and procedures
    • Mature judgement and professionalism in handling all matters
    • Required knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as managing files and records and other office processes, procedures, and terminology
    • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
    • Excellent math skills
    • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
    • Knowledge of InfoGenesis software recommended, but not required

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

    • Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, carries, and pushes
    • Lifts and carries supplies, and cases, weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Essential hand/eye coordination
    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior hotel, restaurant/bar/casino work environment
    • Noise level is moderate to high
    • Limited exposure to physical risk
    • Moderate physical effort is required
