    Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for STRL Mission Support.

    Duties * You will serve as an Integration Engineer and will be a member of a fast-paced Agile team supporting software development for F/A-18 and/or EA-18G mission systems.

    * You will be a member of a team that is responsible for requirement development and decomposition, design, implementation, testing, and fielding of software solutions for the Fleet through Program Increments.

    * You will ensure that required documentation is developed for all tests in accordance with current standards, procedures, and schedules.

    * You will conduct laboratory and ground tests, monitoring/recording system performance through real-time tools and bus message traffic. * You will conduct flight tests, monitoring/recording system performance via telemetry sources.

    * You will analyze test data, investigate problems and anomalies, provide engineering evaluations of system performance, and document system anomalies and deficiencies, as required.

    A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test.

    You will be subject to random testing.

    * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.

    You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

    Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS9/11 grade level or DP-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

    Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing, designing, and decomposing requirements to implement new capabilities; 2) Developing and documenting test points and test procedures for new software builds, and evaluate new software performance; 3) Developing test plans to ensure that all needed test requirements are being met through planned activities and are properly briefed and de-briefed for every event; 4) Conducting laboratory and ground tests, monitoring/recording system performance through real-time tools and bus message traffic; 5) Conducting flight tests, monitoring/recording system performance via telemetry sources; and 6) Analyzing test data, investigate problems and anomalies, provide engineering evaluations of system performance, and document system anomalies and deficiencies.

    Computer Science Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

    Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

    Education Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

    For 08XX series: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.

    To be acceptable, the program must:
    (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

    Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

    Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g.

    Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico The FE examination is not administered by the U.

    Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).

    The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program as described in paragraph A (above)
    OR

    Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.

    Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.


    For 1320 Basic Requirement:
    A)

    Degree in:

    physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics.

    OR B) Combination of education and experience course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.


    For 1310 Basic Requirements:
    A)

    Degree:
    physics; or related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in physics. OR B) Combination of education and experience courses equivalent to a major in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

    In either A or B above, the courses must have included a fundamental course in general physics and, in addition, courses in any two of the following:
    electricity and magnetism, heat, light, mechanics, modern physics, and sound


    For 1520 Basic Requirements:
    A)

    Degree:
    mathematics; or the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics.

    OR B) Combination of education and experience courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics), as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

    The total course work in either A or B above must have included differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite


    For 1550 Basic Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
