- Collaborates with Division Directors on policy implementation, personnel operational matters, legislative affairs, and constituent concerns; communicates recommendations for actions to be taken to superiors and ensures divisional compliance with departmental policies.
- Reviews correspondence and reports to determine appropriate handling procedures for complaints or issues; oversees data tracking, reporting on violations and complaints, intervenes to address problems, and keeps superiors informed.
- Serves as a point of contact for the general public, Division Directors, Governors Office, legislators, council members, and other agencies to address inquiries and complaints, articulate policies, resolve issues, and oversee the implementation of department directives.
- Manages constituent relations, resolving service delivery crises referred by the Governor's Office, legislators, and other entities promptly and efficiently.
- Represents superiors at council meetings and task forces.
- Supervises and evaluates the work of subordinate clerical and secretarial staff; coordinates office activities, recommends operating practices, policies, and procedures.
- Engages in the drafting and analysis of legislation, provides testimony on bills, represents the department at committee hearings, and keeps superiors updated on progress.
- Prepares and tracks unit budgets, develops agendas and programs for management meetings, conferences, and retreats.
- Compiles and analyzes information, prepares department accomplishment and activity reports for the Governor's Office.
- Public policy administration experience, overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of public policies for at least six months.
- Interpretation experience in governmental law, constitutional law, regulatory interpretation, or legislation for at least three years.
- Interaction experience with legislators, cabinet officials, or interest groups as a liaison for at least six months.
- Program evaluation experience, assessing programs and services, identifying issues, ensuring compliance, and evaluating effectiveness and efficiency for at least three years.
- Experience in recommending changes, alternatives, improvements, or courses of action based on evaluation findings for at least three years.
- Budget administration experience, including budget management, development, analysis, implementation, strategic planning, and internal control establishment for at least six months.
- Experience in narrative report writing for at least six months.
