    JOB SUMMARY
    Support development through tasks in a wet chemical laboratory including electrolyte mixing, battery cell builds, hardware preparation, and miscellaneous tasks including some basic wiring and handling compressed gas cylinders.

    We are seeking a proficient, reliable, and informed Research Associate II, with exceptional attention to detail, to join our team in the Bay Park area of San Diego, CA.

    The perfect candidate can work autonomously with minimal supervision, is meticulous, task-driven, and adept at managing a wide range of tasks in a dynamic work environment.

    Work will mainly take place in a wet lab setting, and the candidate should be proficient in safely handling various chemicals, tools, and equipment.


    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Follow protocols for safe handling of materials and chemicals
    • Accurately and comprehensively record work in travelers, laboratory notebooks, and/or data systems
    • Precisely follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other written procedures
    • Maintain an organized and functional laboratory workspace with general lab duties such as stocking laboratory consumables, electrical wiring, and cleaning
    • Conduct routine and/or non-routine analysis to troubleshoot systems or meet internal project needs
    • Conduct experiments and analyze experimental data under supervision
    • Develop new methods as necessary to fulfill R&D project requirements
    • Develop new operating procedures and ensure proper change management as needed
    • Promote a safe work environment, including suggesting improvements and participating in safety initiatives
    • Other duties as assigned by the company

    REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering field, with a minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience preferred
    • Familiarity with best practices in chemical and hazardous material handling
    • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and excel in a high-pressure environment
    • Basic machining skills (drill press, sanding)
    • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
    • Stand for extended periods
    • Dexterous – adept at safely handling and assembling small objects
    • Proficient in using Microsoft Office products
    • Keen on learning new concepts and improving processes

    At the time of posting, the expected starting salary range for this role is $65,000.00 – $90,000.00 annually.

    The actual pay depends on various individualized factors, including education, job-related knowledge, experience, and skills, which will be evaluated during the interview process.

    The comprehensive compensation package for this position may also encompass other benefits such as health benefits, 401k, and company stock options.

    The base pay range and package are subject to adjustments and may be revised in the future.
