ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

This role is responsible for being part of the Ankura Infrastructure Team with the development, management, maintenance and support of all the Ankuras infrastructure and systems, including its hosting environment.

The essential part of the role is that all infrastructure and associated systems are continually kept available, secure, monitored, and backed up and running efficiently.

You will continually develop and improve the infrastructure in line with new trends and business requirements where applicable or required, in order to provide the best possible environment within which the business can operate and thrive.

You will also be looking to the future in terms of capacity planning and predicting trends so that the infrastructure managementmaintenance

and development is a proactive endeavor.

You will join a team of individuals who embrace and respect diverse perspectives, aren't afraid to push boundaries and try new ideas, and are passionate about helping our customers/users and each other succeed.

As a Senior Server Engineer, we are looking for someone thats passionate about server Infrastructure and interest into industry trends (technology, methods and tooling) someone whos constantly seeking new ways to improve.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Last line of escalation for technical support incidents escalated from our managed service provider.
Manage all VMWare technologies across the estate including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter based on Dell MX7000/Cisco UCS hardware.
Work with other teams across the company to spec and build solutions for their needs.
Project management of all critical infrastructure IT implementations ensuring systems are well planned, accurately built to spec, delivered on time and well documented.
Develop and maintain VMware templates for Windows and Linux OSes.
Automation of VMware using PowerCLI, Scripting and automation azure.
Expert knowledge of Windows OS including IIS, DNS, DHCP, and Group policies.
Working with deployment technologies including SCCM/Altiris and patching.
Manage backup infra using technologies from NetBackup and Dell Avamar along with support for IPDA, PowerConnect and tape systems.
Manage ACL permissions on DellEMC Isilon SMB file systems.
Producing technical documentation for all new systems and implementations server side.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
Hands on working understanding of datacenter stack products such as VMWare, Storage, networking and windows stack -AD, DNS, IIS, DHCP, TCPIP, DFSR.

Experience with migrating, architecting, building, or deploying systems and applications in cloud platforms.

Advanced architectural knowledge of networking, security groups and policy management for cloud resources across multiple operating systems, including UNIX, Linux, or Windows.
10 or more years of relevant experience in managing large scale server and storage infrastructure.
