Our Senior System Engineer will manage complexity, technical product design and cross functional team collaboration.

This role will lead, direct, and organize Systems Engineering activities in converting business and customer needs into solutions through concept ideation, system designs, trade studies, data analysis and modeling.

After driving concept designs, this candidate will take concepts from ideas to products, through defining architectures, requirements, features, interfaces, and user workflows for how all these devices work together in the system.

Responsibilities:
Drive collaborative design and development of medical devices; mobile apps, implantable neurostimulators, and programmers/transmitters.
Develop system concepts, capture user needs, and create use cases or user stories.
Develop and manage multiple levels of requirements.
Develop and document interface designs and protocols.
Define, plan, and conduct formal technical design and test reviews.
Guide, develop, and review verification strategies, test designs, test tools, planned execution and documentation.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.

Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.

Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Education Requirements & Previous Experience

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience within the medical device industry, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Degree in engineering, life sciences, or related medical/scientific field is preferred.
Experience with active implantable medical devices is preferred.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Be able to work in the space between marketing, engineering (mechanical/electrical/software), clinical, UI/UX, regulatory, and quality to bring these experts together to collaboratively design medical device products.

Designing scalable, best practice solutions
Excellent relationship-building skills
Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent technical document writing and reporting.
