SUMMARY


The Project Manager serves as the primary contact between public utility companies and the development team to coordinate the utility designs that meet both utility requirements and project needs.

The Project Manager will oversee the development of construction drawings, specifications, and construction contract documents.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Management _
  • Participate in contract negotiations, approve client billing, and secure contract amendments for changes to scope and fees.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling project team activities with the assistance of the team lead.
Develop project scopes and schedules and track and maintain project budgets.

  • Technical_
  • Use AutoCAD to design joint trench, electric, gas, and telecommunication infrastructure
  • Manage and oversee utility planning and design process includingdue diligence assistance
- preliminary cost estimates
- dry utility coordination
- calculating joint trench quantities
- preparing utility company reimbursement requests

  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with our architects, engineers, contractors, construction managers, owners, and utility providers
  • Coordinate Utility companies' responsibilities in the design process
  • Construction administration i.e., answer RFIs and questions of contractor as well as manage the submittal process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in related engineering field or an equivalent level of experience
  • EIT or PE, a plus
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with an engineering firm or utility company
  • General knowledge of computers, Microsoft office, Adobe, Internet, etc.
  • Knowledgeable on the Greenbook Manual
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting (up to 8 hours a day for office staff)
  • Interacting with technology (computer, cellphone, etc.)
  • Ability to lift and/or carry items ( up to 20 lbs.)
  • Prolonged periods of standing/walking (field checks)
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (field checks)
  • Occasional travel e.g. driving to offices, jobsites, client meetings, etc.
