    Description

    A Freight Forwarding and Logistics company are looking to hire an Export Specialist, Air & Ocean Freight to join their growing team in the Washington, DC/VA area.

    This position offers hybrid working (2-3 days in office and the remainder working from home).

    Responsibilities:

    • Liaise with internal and external clients, as well as overseas agencies to ensure the successful delivery of freight
    • Produce ocean freight and air freight waybills
    • Schedule pick-up, delivery and track shipments with air and ocean carriers
    • Prepare quotations for international outbound freight
    • Coordinate the export process from start to finish
    • Process shipping documentation including export declarations
    • Enter relevant data into the internal system
    • Negotiate rates with vendors and clients

    Key Requirements:

    • At least 2 years experience in Freight Forwarding, Export, Air or Ocean Freight
    • Good export operations experience including booking air and ocean freight
    • Must have export compliance experience
    • Superior communication skills
    • Proficient user of Microsoft Suite
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting strict deadlines
