    Our client is a leading Tier 1 supplier in the automotive industry, dedicated to innovation and excellence in the design and manufacturing of cutting-edge Systems and Components.

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sales Applications Engineer - JOEM Accounts.


    As a Sales Applications Engineer with knowledge of Japanese Original Equipment Manufacturers (JOEM), you will be pivotal in driving business growth and ensuring customer satisfaction, as well as cultivating/maintaining strong business relationships.

    This position will serve as the customer's technical advisor and account manager.

    RESPONSIBILITIESTechnical and Professional Expertise

    Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of automotive systems and components in the areas of Body and/or Chassis, with a focus on JOEM requirements


    Experience with engineering disciplines:
    GD&T, DFMEA, PPAP/PSW, QOS, etc.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and present technical solutions to customers.
    Participate in open issues (internal) meetings with global manufacturing facilities, engineering centers and automotive manufacturers.
    Lead the development of customer technical review presentations for new business opportunities, on-going business and high-level management reviews.
    Identify and proactively support discussions to determine the strategic direction to enhance profitability and proficiency of the company.

    Customer Interaction

    Represent the company as the key customer interface.
    This position demands a blend of technical proficiency, entrepreneurial sales acumen and a deep understanding of the automotive industry.

    Exchange commercial information and build relationships within the company and its customers as a reliable local presenceLead the quoting efforts for commercial negotiations and provide the information required to develop responses.

    Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the value proposition.

    Pursue new business opportunities with the customerProvide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to ensure customer satisfaction and build lasting relationships.

    Market Intelligence

    Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities and emerging technologies in the automotive sector.
    Provide insights and recommendations to internal teams based on market intelligence.


    REQUIREMENTS


    Bachelors degree in Mechanical EngineeringProven experience as a Sales Applications Engineer in the automotive industry, with Japanese OEM clients5+ years in total experience3+ years experience of involvement in technical sales at a tier 1 supplier or equivalentExperience in responding to and the development of RFQsAbility to build and maintain strong relationships with both customers and internal teamsStrong understanding of automotive systems and components.

    Areas of preference are body, chassis or interiors - to include technical specifications and manufacturing processes

    Experience with engineering disciplines:
    GD&T, DFMEA, PPAP/PSW, QOS, etcA high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office and CAD expertise - CATIA, UG, etcHaving both a proactive and solutions-based customer relations approach with clear written and verbal communication skillsExcellent presentation skillsAbility and valid documentation to travel internationally for customer visits to our technical center for engineering reviews, manufacturing site visits and launch support activitiesPassion and an entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to demonstrate perseverance
