    What we do:

    TPG provides validation, durability, mileage accumulation and quality testing services for vehicle and mechanized equipment projects and programs in the engineering, R&D, quality control and quality assurance sectors of the automotive industry.

    What we are looking for:

    Work within a team of technicians and test engineers to prepare, perform, and validate testing activities. Ensure all tests are carried out in an efficient manner and validate the tests. Minimize the installation time as well as optimize test cycle efficiency in test cells. Produce useful data for engineering and follow-up activities in the test facilities to establish relevant KPIs. Must have CDL Class A. Will support with instrumenting trucks, and data collection. This may include mechanical labor, prototype development, installation and troubleshooting of instrumentation and sensors, setup and maintenance of test rigs, perform tests under direction of test engineer (which will include driving and travel).


    Job Responsibilities/Requirements:

    • Able to operate heavy vehicles (CMv's) in a variety of testing and road conditions.
    • Basic understanding of Heavy Truck & Trailer systems and functions.
    • Utilize data acquisition tools and instrumentation to gather and analyze vehicle data during test drives.
    • Needs to be able to identify different types of instrumentation, understand their applications, and respective function(s)
    • Needs the ability to troubleshoot technical problems both mechanical and electrical
    • Perform physical testing on test objects by driving and executing test cases in support to Engineers
    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on test vehicles as needed.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of test plans and procedures.
    • Maintain accurate records of test results and vehicle performance data
    • Provide feedback and recommendations to the engineering team in order to improve prototype vehicle design and functionality.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols during test drives.
    • Adapt quickly to changing project requirements and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

    • Possess a Class A CDL and Minimum 3 years of experience operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle
    • Must have basic PC skills - Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
    • Familiar with a variety of instrumentation and have prior knowledge of the Data Acquisition Process (DAQ)
    • Must be willing to travel
    • Strong understanding of truck functions and features
    • High school degree

    Physical and Environmental Requirements:

    • Able to lift 50 LBS
    • Bending, Twisting, be able to squat
    • Quick reaction during dynamic driving test
    • Prolonged standing/sitting
    • Be able to drive 8 hours a day
    • Must maintain a Class A CDL and have a current Medical Examiner's Certificate

    Important Items:

    • Safety Sensitive position requiring all persons assigned to activity be drug-free and able to pass a drug screen successfully.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1.     Working knowledge of aerospace engineering processes, certification requirements, and familiarity with flight test operations. 2.     Working knowledge of FAR Part 23/25. 3.     Working knowledge of Microsoft Project software. 4.     Working knowledge of CAD (CATIA preferred) and PLM Systems (TeamCenter preferred) preferred. 5.     Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Power Point) is required. 6.     Excellent communication skills and a self-starter that takes initiative without supervision. 7.     Able to effectively communicate and present to Senior Program and Engineering Leadership. 8.     Ability to work independently or within a team oriented environment.  Physical Requirements: 1.     Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors. 2.     Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties. 3.     Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.). 4.     Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties. 5.     Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions. 6.     Effectively communicate in Business English language. 7.     Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties. 8.     Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.   The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
