Overall Position Summary and Objectives

  • The contractor will independently provide support services to support the implementation of research protocols conducted by investigators with the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. The contractor will collaborate with staff on the design and implementation of current and future studies including interviewing, screening, and recruiting participants and obtaining their consent for research studies. Additionally, the contractor will perform other activities such as writing standard operating procedures, data collection, data entry, administering study measures, performing quality assurance and quality control activities, coordinating participants visits, conduct team meetings, and create educational materials.

Deliverables:


  • Work with staff on the drafting of new protocol amendments and associated documents by providing editorial support and expert opinion.

Minimum Education
Associate


Additional Qualifications:


Certifications & Licenses

  • Registered Nurse Licensed in state of Maryland
  • CPR Certification

Field of Study:


  • Nursing

Software:


  • Experience with electronic databases used for research data collection, management, and storage is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records and data collection.

Skills:


  • Two (2) years nursing experience
  • Minimum of an R.N. degree.
  • Knowledge of federal regulatory requirements pertaining to clinical research.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • NIH clinical trials experience preferred
  • Knowledge pertaining to the privacy of the patient, privileged information, and secure handling of patient's medical records Knowledge of environmental safety, including infection control, isolation technique, aseptic technique, and general security
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Must be able to be credentialed by the NIH Clinical Center Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
  • Experience in a clinical research setting with protocols and clinical trials
