    Description

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform supervisory functions under the guidance of a supervisors/manager.
    • Assign daily tasks to other shipping department employees.
    • Monitor shipping department employees' progress on assigned tasks.
    • Make decisions pertaining to the overriding of scanner errors/product errors.
    • Identify and make up orders off a pick sheet.
    • Pick and stage outbound shipments.
    • Ensure outbound shipments are accurate and free from damage.
    • Stage a trailer to ensure that shipments are loaded properly and maximum loads areachieved.
    • Clear packaging area by securing and loading finished pallets, moving empty pallets.
    • Maintain a safe work environment by watching out for foot traffic: following standards andprocedures: complying with legal regulations per all forklift operations.
    • Accomplish warehousing and organizational mission by completed related results asneeded.
    • Use scanner in the correct manner to properly scan and maintain accurate inventorylevels.
    • Complete necessary forklift maintenance and associated reports to ensure maximum forkliftperformance and overall plant safety.
    • Participate in monthly inventory process.
    • Maintain work area in a clean and sanitary manner

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • High School Diploma/GED required
    • 1-2 years related work experience is preferred.
    • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
    • Must have basic computer skills

    Working Conditions:

    • Must be able to work in temperatures of 34 degrees or less.
    • Must be flexible and able to work as needed (currently three shifts).
    • Must be able to work in a high speed environment.
    • Must be able to stand up to 12 hours per day.
    • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
    • Must be able to bend, stoop and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and othermiscellaneous duties.
    • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
    • Must be able to work 40 or more hours per week, flexible schedule when necessary.
    • Must be able to work mandatory overtime if necessary.
