- Mastery of Marine Mechanic duties.
- Leading and performing diesel engine repairs company-wide.
- Installing new systems and innovative solutions.
- Repairing and replacing pilothouse electronics, diagnosing and fixing vessel media systems.
- Acting as a liaison between the company and outside contractors, working together to finalize repairs.
- Rebuilding and maintaining company pump systems, including alignment & coupling.
- Familiarity with industry-standard engineering tools and techniques.
- Crafting parts and system designs at an OEM-level.
- Managing projects, time, and making decisions.
- Accurate reporting on projects and issues.
- Mentoring Marine Mechanics and ensuring projects are efficiently resolved.
- Proficiency in Hybrid Propulsion Systems.
- Competent in electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Understanding department engineering needs such as Alcatraz Island, Pier 33, Yard Periods, and Special Projects.
- Interpreting and summarizing Laboratory test data for management.
- Completing all logs and tasks reliably and accurately.
- Learning new skills as needed and organizing workload effectively.
- Maintaining clean and operational tools and workspace.
- Expertise in pipe, pipefitting, and fluid control systems.
- Ensuring engineering systems follow best practices maintenance schedules.
- Additional assigned job duties.
- 2 years of Industry Experience.
- Understanding of electricity and safety practices for working around it.
- HAZWOPER certificate (40 hours).
- Forklift Certification.
- CPR & First Aid Certification.
- Experience in Welding, Brazing, Soldering, and metal work.

The successful Engineer will be hands-on across all Engineering department levels. Responsible for all phases of engineering projects, from start to finish. This includes formulating hypotheses, controlling variables, designing tests, gathering data, recommending options, and seeing projects through completion. Demonstrating leadership within the department and maintaining a positive attitude towards engineering challenges is essential.
