    Climate Solutions is offering an exciting new opportunity for an HR and Payroll Manager who has strong value in centering a positive employee experience and who has an excellent understanding of human resources through a racial equity lens.


    The top candidates for this role have an excellent understanding of HR, both its strengths and weaknesses, in creating a positive work environment; foster an environment that supports staff in bringing up sensitive topics; have a strong eye for detail; and experience doing payroll.

    The position is a full-time, exempt position with a hybrid work schedule located in either Seattle or Portland and supervised by the Operations Director.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Create an HR environment where employees feel valued and respected.
    Complete all duties using a racial equity lens.
    Process and enter payroll for the organization, including 401K system entry.
    Create and implement staff recruitment strategies, including recruitment from communities most impacted by climate change.

    Provide support for hiring processes including anonymizing applications, scheduling interviews, candidate follow up, and participating in interviews while following and enforcing hiring procedures.

    Coordinate the onboarding of new staff.
    Maintain staff information with benefits partners.
    Coordinate annual evaluation process in collaboration with the Operations Director.
    Maintain HR documentation per legal and industry standards.
    Stay abreast of updates in federal, state, and local HR laws.
    Provide thought partnership on issues related to HR with the Operations Director.
    Maintain appropriate confidentiality.
    Participate in Climate Solutions staff meetings, trainings, racial equity conversations, and team meetings.

    Lead or coordinate meetings when appropriate.

    Incorporate Climate Solutions Equity, Diversity and Inclusion commitments, Commitment to Leading our Work with a Racial Equity Lens, and Climate Solutions values into all aspects of the job.

    Meet staff reporting deadlines for program, development, and administrative tasks.
    Additional duties may be assigned within the course of the work.

    DEMONSTRATED COMPETENCIES

    Skills and Knowledge:
    A thorough understanding of best practices in Human Resources.
    A deep understanding of HR through racial equity and social justice lenses.
    The ability to create an environment of respect and value for employees.
    Excellent social skills.
    Well organized and a strong eye for detail.
    The ability to process and enter payroll using online platforms and Quickbooks or a similar accounting software.
    Be collaborative in your approach to your work and in your relationships with your colleagues.

    Operate desktop computer and Microsoft Windows and Office Software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and specialized software applications in a network environment.


    Experience and Certifications:
    2 years of experience in Human Resources or 1 year experience and
    a degree that includes Human Resources Certification.
    1 year experience doing payroll.
    Authorization to work in the United States.

    REMUNERATION

    This is a salaried position with an annual salary range of $77,000-$98,000 with the top end for the most experienced candidates.
