Your future team:
You will become part of the Human Resources team. The team consists of the factory site HR Assistant and HR Generalist.
You will also collaborate with the North America HR team including members from Local HR Partners, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition and Plant Management.
What you will be doing:
Provide labour relations expertise and human resources management services to all employees at the factory in Grand Forks, BC.
Labour Relations
Participate in, coordinate and document the collective bargaining process.
Maintain library of current labour relations information.
Participate in and document all meetings between management and the union.
Attend all Grievance meetings. Present accurate and up-to-date records of circumstances relating to the grievance and the employee's work history and performance record.
Provide support and assistance to management in all union grievance matters from initiation to conclusion.
Attend and prepare for all arbitrations, conciliations, and mediations.
In conjunction with HR team, prepare, update and monitor compliance with policies and procedures for direct and indirect employees in Grand Forks.
Coach and train factory management team and supervisors to implement changes made through new policies and proceduresBenefits Administration and Claims Management
Work with centralized Total Rewards Team on provide benefits information to factory employees, salaried and hourly.
Work with centralized Total Rewards Team on claims management activities for all short and long term disability claims to minimize duration and resulting cost impact.
CommunicationParticipate as required in Communication meetings
Ensure that communication boards are up to date in the factory.
General
Drive the Performance Management program for indirect employees and ensure on-time completion of goal-setting, mid-term and year-end review process.
Drive Performance Management and/or evaluations for direct employees through the Supervisors
Coordinate and provide input into bi-annual People Meetings
Other duties as required.
Recruitment
Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Team on requisition needs for the factory Hiring Managers.
What you bring:
Post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a progressive human resources position.
Experience with labour environment
Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
Proven track record in managing multiple projects within deadline.
High drive, commitment and self-motivation.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
