Job DescriptionThe following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.
Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots.
Basic understanding of PLC programming principles and techniques with consideration for operator and equipment safety.
Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect and repair any malfunctions.
Performs both routine and repair maintenance on industrial pumps.
Performs both routine and repair maintenance on scrap conveyors.
Discusses machine operation variations with supervisors, operators, or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.

Understand and adhere to wiring standards as specified in NFPA 79 (NEC) code books and use "best practices" for wiring equipment.

Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
Repairs and maintains the physical structure of the establishment.

Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.

Operates cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Fabricates and repairs tables, benches, racks and other metal structures.
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Must use electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics for troubleshooting.
Must complete required classes in accordance with designated General Repair II Program. Understands, supports, and implements the company safety policies; Quality policy, housekeeping; and continuous improvement skills into daily work habits.

Understands and adheres to all safety guidelines as required by OSHA and specified in the L&W mechanical/electrical standard (BMES) document.

Crane license required.
