This includes integrating environmental, social, and governance strategies (ESG) into our business and operations.

    We are responsible for leading the implementation of the corporate sustainability program, including driving ESG initiatives, fulfilling ESG-related scorecard requirements, leading sustainability reporting and analysis, and spearheading ESG governance for the enterprise.

    Your Impact:

    The Corporate Sustainability Director will lead Communications for the Sustainability Office and supervise related governance, managing at least one direct report for each function. You will be responsible for working with leadership and coordinating with key partners on the following:

    Communications:

    • Leading our ESG Reporting and Disclosure efforts, including the preparation of our Annual ESG Report, and providing strategic direction for all ESG-related communications.
    • Collaborating with Corporate Communications on the development of key messages, targeted emails, website content, and other related materials/tools/events.
    • Communications-related team member engagement with FHFA and various internal audiences.
    • Supporting internal communications for employee engagement activities through internal communications channels and various Business Resource Groups.
    • Onboard, partner, and be responsible for third parties (e.g., consultancies, service providers) supporting various deliverables.
    • Develop Board and senior management content and deliver presentations as applicable.

    Governance:

    • Development and maintenance of CSO governance documents, supporting the creation and execution of appropriate controls, guidelines, policies and procedures, and standards.
    • Develop positive relationships with key leaders and SMEs in each division, particularly in Single Family, Multifamily, Finance Enterprise Risk Management and Communications.
    • Support internal reporting, including developing content and ensuring consistency and accuracy in reporting language.
    • Support internal audits and external exams.
    • Governance-related stakeholder coordination with FHFA and internal audiences.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • 12+ years related experience
    • Shown ability to lead, plan and implement ESG reporting and/or initiatives
    • Consistent track record forming relationships, partnering with multi-functional teams and influencing others
    • An understanding of ESG in the financial services industry
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency in the Microsoft environment
    • Pro-active approach to work, detail oriented, organized teammate

    Additional Qualifications Sought:

    • Master's degree or equivalent years of experience
    • Experience developing SASB, TCFD, GRI, and other ESG reporting framework governance
    • Familiarity with sustainability strategies, market trends, investor focus areas and organizations
    • Experience using reporting software, such as Wdesk
    • Experience or familiarity with Freddie Mac (e.g. mission, businesses and capital markets execution) or GSEs is a plus
