    Summary:
    The Quality Control Coordinator monitors the production processes to ensure product is within food and safety quality standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Inspect and test raw materials to ensure vendor compliance with specifications and established procedures.
    • As required, monitor current procedures to assure compliance to required specifications, reporting any findings to QA Manager for needed changes or adjustments.
    • Put non-conforming product or unsanitary processing equipment on HOLD status.
    • Perform technical operations such as taking and/or shipping samples, examining/analyzing product, recording results and taking appropriate corrective action.
    • Assist with the completion of reports requested by management.
    • Clean, maintain, and sanitize all equipment used in the Quality Control area according to established sanitary rules, regulations, and maintenance/calibration procedures.
    • Basic cleaning of the lab including sweeping, dusting, and cleaning the counters.
    • Inputting analytical data
    • Assist HR with the recruitment, hiring and training of sanitation personnel.
    • Deliver samples for testing to outside laboratories
    • Perform all other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree or relevant work experience.

    • Ability t operate a car and maintain valid drivers license

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelors Degree in Animal Science, Food Science or related field
    • General knowledge of processing, manufacturing and quality control procedures as they relate to food processing GMPs, SSOPs, and HACCP.
    • Ability to learn testing methods, including fat analysis and micro-biological tests.
    • Basic math skills.
    • Knowledge, skill and ability to operate routine lab equipment

    Language Ability:
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
    Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
    Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

    Math Ability:
    Basic math skills with addition, subtraction and multiplication. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    Reasoning Ability:
    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


    Computer Skills:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual should Advance level of expertise with Microsoft Word and Excel.
    Must be able to operate common office machines.
