    Purchasing Agent

    Advance Services Inc. has a new role available as a Purchasing Agent

    Job Duties:
    • Foster strong relationships with key suppliers and negotiate pricing of raw materials, packaging supplies, and shipping cost.
    • Stay informed of economic, and industry trends or conditions that may affect the supply chain.
    • Scout for new vendors, assess capabilities, and negotiate prices for new and existing products.
    • Develop and execute inventory management strategies to minimize waste and maintain optimal supply levels.
    • Issue requests for quotes, product samples, and supplier documentation.
    • Create and manage purchase orders ensuring accuracy and price compliance.
    • Maintain and update material lead times and pricing in ERP system.
    • Partner with Quality and R&D teams on supplier approval to ensure quality, regulatory compliance and product specification. Assist in the resolution of any material issues or returns.
    • Collaborate with Warehouse team on scheduling receipt of materials and minimizing shipping issues.
    • Act as a liaison between our suppliers and internal teams to help coordinate the return or disposal of expired materials.
    • Oversee the timely and cost-effective coordination of expedited materials and logistics.
    • Manage vendor scorecard and evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and pricing.
    • Attend industry and vendor events, trainings and conferences.
    • Other purchasing responsibilities as assigned.
    Experience & Requirements:

    •Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic sourcing in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

    •Understanding of logistics management and international shipping processes.

    •Bachelor's degree in business or related field highly desired OR a combination of education and experience.

    •Exceptional communication and presentation skills; adept at communicating internally with various departments and externally with vendors.

    •Outstanding negotiation and relationship building abilities.

    •Ability to thrive in a dynamic, multi-functional, multi-cultural environment.

    •Proficient in Microsoft Suite and advanced used of Excel.

    •Experience using MRP tools. Global Shop Solutions experience a plus.

    •Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, and ability to effectively multi-task including addressing changing priorities.

    •CPSM or APICS Certification a plus.

    Pay: $ $25.00 to start

    Shift: Monday to Friday - Day Shift

    Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
