The CENTRAL DEPARTMENT Neuenheimer Feld is a central institution of the University of Heidelberg and is directly subordinate to the Rectorate.

The CENTRAL DEPARTMENT is the central operating unit that provides services for the faculties and their institutions, the central facilities, as well as for the University Hospital and its institutions.

Employees for the caretaker service (m/f/d)

Your tasks:


  • Minor repair, maintenance and preservation work on the internal facilities in the institutes of the University of Heidelberg in the Neuenheimer Feld area and in the THEORETKUM
  • Transport and rearrangement work in various buildings
  • Maintenance of outdoor facilities
  • Internal driving service with an electric car
  • Representation in the mailroom of the CENTRAL DEPARTMENT Neuenheimer Feld

Your profile:


  • Completed vocational training as a metalworker (locksmith), painter or tiler
  • Professional experience in the learned profession
  • Possession of a class B driver's license (class 3)
  • Possession of a class C/CE driver's license would be an advantage
  • Very good command of the German language in spoken and written form, as well as communication skills due to frequent customer contact with the institutes
  • Good physical resilience is required due to heavy physical work
  • Teamwork, independence, organizational skills and flexibility
