    Job Overview

    We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Construction Manager to oversee the construction of our battery energy storage facilities in New York City. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the construction process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role will serve as the main point of contact for all construction-related activities and will report directly to the VP of Construction & Operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Management:

    • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of battery energy storage facility construction projects.
    • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

    Team Leadership:

    • Supervise and provide guidance to project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to review project progress, address issues, and set objectives.
    • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
    • Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to the VP of Construction & Operations and other senior leadership.
    • Facilitate effective communication between all project stakeholders to ensure alignment and address concerns promptly.

    Risk Management:

    • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Monitor site safety and ensure all construction activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and project specifications.

    Contract and Equipment Management:

    • Oversee the selection and management of subcontractors and vendors.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
    • Directly purchase necessary equipment and ensure its timely delivery and installation.
    • Ensure all contractual obligations are met and manage any disputes that arise.

    Coordination with Engineering:

    • Collaborate closely with the engineering team on the design and planning of future projects.
    • Ensure construction feasibility and integration of design specifications into the construction process.
    • Provide feedback and insights to engineering to enhance design efficiency and project execution.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior management role overseeing large-scale projects.
    • Strong understanding of medium-voltage electrical systems
    • Proven experience managing battery energy storage facility construction projects is highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in construction management software and other relevant tools.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
