    Highlights of the job

    We are hiring a Rates Analyst II or III to work out of our US Corporate office in north, central Phoenix.

    This individual will join the Rates/Regulatory team, which is a respected and important function within any regulated utility. It is a discipline at the nexus of accounting, economics, law, and engineering. This individual will be responsible for researching, investigating, developing recommendations, reporting and testifying on proper utility policies, rates, and economics.

    What you'd be responsible for

  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate regulatory reports and compile financial information and operational data necessary for filing rate applications to our various regulators in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
  • Prepare sections of regulatory applications and complete written testimony and exhibits with supporting papers.
  • Respond to information requests and support testimony in public hearing.
  • Ensure rates are implemented correctly into our billing system.

    • What's required to be successful

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Math, Finance, Economics or Business required. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or accounting. Experience/knowledge in Water Utility industry a plus.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills as well as strong communication skills, solid time management and organization skills.
  • Solid knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts and understanding of analytical concepts for financial analysis as well as US GAAP accounting practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
