Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the focus of this role is to lead a team of underground production engineers to perform mine design and drill and blast functions.
Key accountabilities include:
Supervision of the stope design process and subsequent drill and blast plans;Supervise the implementation of the weekly schedule for development, production and auxiliary tasks;Developing strong relationships with operational personnel including the mining contractor;Planning, coordinating, and undertaking project work to continuously improve drill and blast performance;Engage and manage external contractors where required to support mine production activities;Provide technical support and mentoring to mining engineers and assist in developing team capability; andAct as Deputy Underground Manager when required.
Your Experience The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to workplace safety and enjoy mentoring and leading a team to success.
They will also bring the following:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering;A First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (desirable);Significant underground mining experience with sound knowledge of longhole drilling, blasting, ventilation, projects, planning and scheduling;Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels within the business;Self-motivated and well organised to ensure the timely delivery of projects and tasks assigned to the role;Experience with Deswik software preferred;Valid 'C' class manual drivers' licence; andNational Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
