Independent Living, Inc., a progressive and dynamic cross-disability services organization and a leader in the provision of peer services in the Hudson Valley is seeking to hire an
Emergency Response Clinical Manager.

This position will lead the team and correspond (with ILI Peer) with New Windsor EMS to calls related to behavioral health and substance use disorder calls.

Provide harm reduction and connection to services/ treatment for individuals and their circle of support.

The goal is to reduce repeat calls and give the individuals the tools and supports to prevent future crisis and pre-crisis situations while allowing them to remain well in the community.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise Emergency Response Peers and Clinician.
  • Coordinate the schedule and services for the EMS Substance Use Disorder Crisis Response Team.
  • Participate in the interview process for new Emergency Response Team Members.
  • Represent ILI at internal and external stakeholder meetings.
  • Act as the lead liaison between the EMS personal and ILI team.
  • Remain on scene as the situation warrants with peer team member to provide support and connection.
  • Help families and individuals:
- understand the progression of addiction
- empower family members
- navigate insurance barriers and treatment systems

  • Oversee and coordinate referrals to the Orange County Crisis Call Center for ongoing resources, services, and peer supports.
  • Coordinate referrals to Orange County Crisis Call Center for Mobile Response Team as warranted by the situation.
  • Attend and actively participate in all meetings and training sessions provided by Independent Living, Inc. and specific to the job responsibilities of the position.
  • Provide education and training about harm reduction strategies to the people residing with or supporting the individual experiencing the emergency,
  • Maintain a current and working knowledge of community resources available for individuals wishing to engage in additional treatment or services.
  • Educate individuals, families, and community resources about challenges, options, and resources with regard to persons with disabilities.
  • Assist individuals in accessing these services and treatments.
  • Engage in individual advocacy by assisting individuals with substance use disorder and cooccurring disorders in protecting and promoting their rights, resolving complaints, accessing services and navigating community supports of their choice.
  • Complete all reporting and record keeping as required including statistical reports by specified due dates.
  • Attend and actively participate in all meetings and training sessions provided by Independent Living, Inc. as well as those specific to substance use disorder and cooccurring disorders, transition and diversion.

SHIFT:

  • Monday through Friday 2pm10pm

PAY RATE:
- $66,718/yr - $68,016/yr

Requirements:


  • Strong data entry and computer software skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Must have good time management skills and be selfdirecting, especially if there is any downtime.
  • Must possess a valid unrestricted driver's license and have reliable transportation.
  • Licensed Master of Social Work, required.
  • Minimum of one year of management/supervisory experience, required.
  • Lived experience with substance use recovery either personally or through a family member or friend who has gone through recovery and be comfortable with selfdisclosure as needed, a plus.
  • Must complete approved advocacy training programs within the first six months of employment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the recovery process and be willing to promote multipathways to recovery.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
