Independent Living, Inc., a progressive and dynamic cross-disability services organization and a leader in the provision of peer services in the Hudson Valley is seeking to hire a
Director of Marketing and Development.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead comprehensive fundraising and marketing efforts aimed at driving sustainable growth and expanding Independent Living, Inc.'s (ILI) services in the Hudson Valley.


Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the role entails developing and implementing strategic plans to diversify funding streams, secure grants, and strengthen individual giving.

With a focus on increasing engagement and revenue, the Director will oversee special events, advertising campaigns, and donor relations while managing a dedicated team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to annually secure a minimum of $5 million in grant revenue, with a focus on annually generating $1 million in new, sustainable grant funding.
  • Develop innovative strategies for individual giving, estate planning, and bequests to diversify funding sources and ensure longterm financial stability.
  • Oversee the planning, communication and execution of all special events, including the annual Breakfast Fundraiser, 5Year Gala and donor stewardship events.
  • Lead grantwriting activities. Utilize the grant tracking system to source, track and report grant initiatives.
  • Oversee the fund development and marketing budget including monitoring revenue and expenses, tracking fundraising progress, and prepare regular financial reports for senior management and the board of directors.
  • Develop and implement branding and marketing strategies for print materials, digital marketing and online and social media platforms. Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.
  • Create and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the mission and services of Independent Living, Inc. and Independent Home Care, Inc. by cultivating relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers and leveraging various media types.
  • Train, oversee and work with the Marketing Content Coordinator to oversee the development of compelling content, including articles, blog posts, videos, and graphics.
  • Collaborate with program staff to plan and implement community engagement initiatives such as workshops, and forums to promote awareness, education, and collaboration.
  • Conduct research and audience analysis to understand demographics and preferences. Use data analytics tools to track marketing performance, measure engagement metrics, and optimize marketing strategies for effectiveness.
  • Design and deliver training programs and orientation sessions to onboard new board members and provide ongoing education and development opportunities for existing members.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and board leadership to develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and objectives aligned with the organization's mission and vision.

SHIFT:

  • Monday through Friday 9am5pm, flexibility based on the needs of the agency.

PAY RATE:
- $80k/yr-$90k/yr

Requirements:


  • Minimum 5 years of directly related experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies using a variety of fundraising streams.
  • Donor communications and capital campaign management experience.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills; persuasive, credible and polished communicator both written and verbal.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Donor Database management (ILI uses Network for Good).
