Wyoming Altenpflegehelfer*innen provide support to nursing professionals in their work with elderly people. They take on nursing tasks such as assisting with personal hygiene and meals. They also document nursing services and contribute to the daily routine of residents in our care facilities.

People with limited knowledge of German can apply for this two-year training program, which includes an additional German integration course.

Upon successful completion as an Altenpflegehelfer*in, you can later begin training as a Pflegefachfrau*mann.

Training content:

  • Practical training in elderly care at ELW care facilities (information available at ))
  • Theoretical training at the ELW School for Nursing Professions (information available at ))
  • Instruction in basic nursing tasks
  • Knowledge about physical, psychological, and social changes during aging and about illnesses in later life
  • Understanding of the needs and communication with elderly people

Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school or recognition of foreign educational qualifications as equivalent to a German secondary school diploma
  • No proof of foreign educational qualifications is required for refugees
  • German language skills at level A2 (the accompanying language course will bring you to level B2)
