    JOB SCOPE:


    Perform a variety of clerical and secretarial functions in the processing of students and student records, including matters of a confidential nature.

    Responsible for computer input and retrieval and must make a variety of decisions within a framework of established procedures. Tasks are related to student records, schedules, attendance, enrollment, testing, and a variety of student-teacher record keeping.

    Must be detail-oriented, able to work effectively with students, administrative and instructional staff, school employees, and the central office staff.

    QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    High School Diploma and College Education
    2-year degree preferred
    Secretary experience preferred
    Knowledge of modern office methods, practices, procedures, and computer operations
    Ability to maintain confidentiality in performing assigned tasks
    Ability to understand, interpret, and follow instructions
    Ability to respond in a caring manner in interaction with students, parents, and staff
    Ability to compile information, maintain extensive transcript records, prepare reports, analyze transcripts carefully and adopt effective courses of action
    Familiar with school procedures, record keeping, and retention requirements
    Excellent oral and written communication skills


    COMPENSATION

    Wage Schedule:
    $20.62-$26.59 per hour salary schedule TBD)

    JCSD 509-J pays the employee's share (6%) of the Public Employees Retirement System Contribution
