Job Description

Certified Medical Assistant needed to support clinic in Temple Hills, Maryland. Front office, back office and good phlebotomy skills needed. Suppporting HIV/Aids population ' Description details as follows:

Medical Assistant Diploma or Certification from a accredited program/ school required; National MA credentials preferred but not required; experience and confidence in Phlebotomy required
Job duties include: Locating patients, obtaining accurate vital signs by visual and auditory measures, triaging patients, assessing patients' medical condition and preparing patients for medical treatment
• Completes review of the patient's record to ensure that all patient specialty referral reports, test and procedure results are present in the EMR pre-clinic visit.
• Documents services performed for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Reviews physician orders, laboratory requests or follow-up needs with patient.
• Performs review of patient's medications pre-visit with provider.
• Notifying the Nurse Manager and/or Physician when patient is ready for exam while communicating symptoms and relaying questions about labs
• Assists nursing and medical staff with examinations and procedures as assigned.
• Documents observations as requested by an MD and/or Nurse Manager in the patient's medical record. Administers medications and vaccines as prescribed.
• Receives and processes orders for referrals, documenting in patient's medical record when assigned.
• Complete documentation of services and care provided in the patient's medical record the same business day the service was performed.
• Maintains supplies and cleanliness of examination rooms.
• Maintains logs as directed by the Nurse Manager.
• Ensures smooth patient flow by ensuring prompt attention to pulling patient charts and necessary medical records. And other duties as assigned...'
