The Senior Server Administrator is responsible for the monitoring, installation, maintenance, support, and overall operational stability of our server and storage infrastructure to allow user access to local-site and enterprise applications. This role will research/implement emerging technology while ensuring future flexibility and growth for our environment. You will also specialize in more critical services, virtualization, domain level items, and /or storage/replication/data recovery systems and infrastructure, as well as solution design and performance optimization in these areas. The ability to communicate effectively and across various cultures within the organization is the key to being successful in this position. You must also bring a high level of expertise in analyzing and resolving complex problems, along with understanding priorities and leading others through problem solving.

**What you will be doing**

Install physical or configure virtual local and enterprise servers. Install, configure and maintain associated operating system and application software (e-mail, database, backup, etc.) as required. Evaluate and select new server hardware and software products. Plan and execute server and associated software upgrades for the enterprise. Lead and mentor team members in identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization of the enterprise server and storage infrastructure. Develop standards for deployment across the enterprise.

Installation, maintenance, and administration of servers, storage, and other related equipment at global locations. Manage server security configuration and patching while ensuring availability of web, database, and application servers at global sites for the enterprise. Analyze, design and Implement system upgrades globally.

Install and manage storage for the enterprise - design storage solutions, evaluate/recommend new storage products, set global standards and provide support to other administrators as needed.

Install and maintain packaged application software as required. Assist internal/external development projects and attend/participate in global project meetings.

Monitor servers, storage and networks for the enterprise to ensure satisfactory performance and 24x7 availability. Manage monitoring tools to identify any issues. Evaluate and select standard monitoring systems and establish monitoring standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems. Responsible for resolving issues with enterprise-level systems. Provide 1st/2nd/3rd level of server system support by addressing issues, questions, and problems.

Design and implement backup solutions for the enterprise. Develop, design, implement and test disaster recovery plans for the local site and for the enterprise as required. Evaluate and select standard backup and disaster recovery software, hardware and services as appropriate.

Monitor system usage and growth, and plan for adequate resources (memory, CPU, storage, bandwidth, etc.) for the enterprise. Communicate system trends, issues and outages to peers and management.

Establish and adhere to Woodward-standard policies and procedures for server, storage and network administration, security, usage and backup/recovery.

Participate on and lead Global IT project teams as required. Lead/facilitate operational improvement projects with varying degrees of complexity.

Work with hardware and software vendors as required to procure, install and resolve issues with enterprise products.

Will be on-call for after-hours issues. Needs to be available for maintenance and implementation work during Sunday planned downtime windows as required.

Maintenance and administration of DNS, IIS, SFTP and other services.

Mentoring of Server Administrators, promoting teamwork/collaboration, and fostering a strong commitment to customer service.

Provide technical guidance to Woodward IT members world-wide; provide IT infrastructure support to Woodward's global user base.

Design and implement complex server, storage solutions while understanding network implications to meet the needs of the global organization for available, secure and optimized access to enterprise applications.

Work with Global IT Security team function to design, implement and maintain enterprise security solutions.

**Qualifications**

**What We Are Looking For**

Bachelors degree (preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent required.

Ten or more years experience with server, storage and/or network administration with global, enterprise responsibilities.

Three or more years solution design experience.

Experience with installation, troubleshooting and support of system hardware/software.

Advanced understanding of servers/storage administration and best practices.

Extensive understanding of LAN/WLAN networks and best practices. Advanced understanding of WAN, converged voice/data networks and best practices in these areas.

Experience in a global and team-oriented environment

MCSE or Cisco certifications

Azure experience
